Bloody Sunday is the name given to the day in which a peaceful demonstration at the Tsar’s winter palace turned into a massacre. The Tsar’s soldiers fired upon the demonstrators with no provocation and many people lost their lives. This event was instrumental in leading the Russian people down the road to revolution in 1905. In this lesson you are going to critique various sources pertaining to ‘Bloody Sunday’. You will evaluate and piece together what happened while analysing the perspectives of the various participants.
